By the mid 1980s, the era of theatrical hardcore features was winding down. With budgets shrinking, directors committed to shooting on film often chose to focus on smaller sets or single location films, while attempting to include as much star power as they could get. The results, while not on the scope of the low to mid-six-figure productions from a few years earlier, were still marked by high production values, clever scripting, and consistent entertainment.
