Debbie Reynolds plays Molly Brown, a backwood's orphan determined to break into the Denver society of the late 19th century. She succeeds in not only becoming one of the richest women in Denver, but also surviving the Titanic disaster!! The real-life story of poor orphan Molly Brown, an uneducated young woman who leaves her mountain cabin home in search of a rich husband and a better life. She finds both in Leadville Johnny Brown as she strikes it lucky and he strikes it rich with the discovery of gold. She then proceeds to take turn-of-the-century Denver society by storm and dazzles the crowned heads of Europe. Later she becomes one of the more unlikely heroines of the time.
